A comprehensive case study of the engineering project management of Hong Kong’s development service
Abstract
According to those in the field, a quantity surveyor spends the majority of his or her day evaluating nominations from subcontractors. However, some significant clients have expressed dissatisfaction. The Hong Kong Jockey Club is testing out domestic subcontracting for building services rather than depending on the existing system of nominated subcontracting in the hopes that it will better help them avoid disputes and claims from contractors. In recent years, we have seen an increase in the "bills of quantities" for commercial building services. When considering a contract with BQ versus one without, the tender price does not significantly increase if BQ is included. It's imperative to keep up a "keep It is beneficial to use it as the building's vehicle as well. services consultant to produce more meticulous designs while closely monitoring the project's expenses. A number of the top consulting and quantity surveying companies in Hong Kong collaborated a few years ago to create a standard measurement technique for building services projects all throughout the city. Since the established method has been shown to be an unduly complex "assessment," QS companies are more likely to develop their own method of measurement.
